Dine With Bordeaux

To help promote Bordeaux wines throughout the UK the CIVB have been offering £250 to wine merchants to help people become more aware of Bordeaux wines via a Dine With Bordeaux experience. We decided to take them up on their offer.

The twist on our Dine With Bordeaux was an evening themed on the hit British sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo! with yours truly introducing the wines and explaining all about them as the local café proprietor ‘René‘!

Our dinner was held at The Duke of York in Berrow, Worcestershire where the entrepreneurial landlord Myles Ball helped mastermind the dinner. The event was very successful with many favourable comments about the wines:

I never thought a white wine would go so well with cheese. They went so well together!”

I am not a red wine drinker and this must be the first red wine I have drunk in 4 years but it’s delicious! I enjoyed my Beouf Bourguignon even more for it.”

I know I love sweet wine but I had no idea that it takes a whole vine to make one glass – now I know why it costs a little extra!”

It was a fun night where everybody had a jolly good time and people got a real appreciation of why Bordeaux wines are so good! Many of the people who attended were astonished how the right selection of Bordeaux wine when paired with the right food made such a difference.
