Having spent the past few days at VINEXPO in Bordeaux with Jean Francois and Veronique Julien of Chateau La Fleur Morange news is that VINEXPO will expand its presence in Asia in 2014. Three events are planned in Hong Kong, Beijing and Tokyo.
VINEXPO has been in Hong Kong for a number of years now and visited Tokyo in 2000 and 2002 but Beijing is a new move and will be the first time VINEXPO is launched in mainland China.
VINEXPO IN HONG KONG will be held on 27th, 28th and 29th May 2014 at the Hong Kong Convention Centre and will be the biggest wine fair ever held in Asia. It will be 50% bigger than 2012’s exhibition and increased to 15 000 m² of exhibition stands surface.
VINEXPO IN BEIJING will be held on 2nd and 3rd June 2014 at the Beijing Convention Centre close to the Forbidden City and Tian’anmen Square. The event will hold 200 exhibitors and between 3,000 – 4,000 wine and spirit professinals from the Beijing region and the North of China will be targeted.
VINEXPO NIPPON IN TOKYO will be held on 1st and 2nd November 2014 at the Prince Park Tower in Tokyo, which is at the centre of the Japanese capital. 400 spaces will be available for exhibitors and 3,000 visitors are expected. This exhibition will be engineered specifically for the on-trade (restaurants, hotels and bars).
Rumour has it that the next area Vinexpo might travel to in the future is South America, possibly Brazil. VINEXPO AMERICAS was held in New York in 2002 for North American buyers and in Chicago in 2004.
