Family Day at Stratford Racecourse

Summer is here and if you are looking for a superb day out this Sunday 14th July is Family Day at Stratford Racecourse. Families can gather together and picnic or BBQ in the centre of the course, making use of the free admission for under 18′s along with the free children’s entertainment on afternoon weekend meetings during holiday time.

Coupled with a great afternoon’s racing sponsored by the Birmingham Mail & Coventry Telegraph (look out for the Mail’s popular 2-4-1 ticket offer) and with the warm sunshine predicted it should be a day to remember.

There are 7 races on the card and the first starts at 2:20pm. If you are a horse racing fan you can check the runners here. The gates open at 10:00am and the last race is at 5:20pm.

There will be lots going on for the children including entertainment like:

Inflatable Assault Course
Victorian Carousel
Fairground Stalls
Balloon Modeller
Ball Pond
Inflatable Slide
Bouncy Castle
Football Instructor
Street Dancing Instructor
National Festival Circus

Stratford Racecourse has been hosting National Hunt racing since 1755 and today are proud to be in the top flight of Britain’s smaller courses. The racecourse lies in Shottery Meadow, encompassed by a loop of the River Avon and is only 5 minutes drive from the town centre. The racecourse is easy to get to (for sat navs the post code is CV37 9SE) and tickets can be purchased at the gate on the day or booked in advance.

If you don’t want to picnic there are good restaurants at the racecourse itself (where you will also find some of Bordeaux-Undiscovered‘s wines!), food stalls (including a carvery) and bars serving hot and cold snacks.

We have enjoyed racing at Stratford Racecourse for many years now and know the racecourse very well. It has a social atmosphere and a friendly touch. We regularly sponsor races there and have held the odd wine tasting or two!

We also run the occasional competition with tickets as prizes and accompany the winners on a day out at the racecourse. We can highly recommend it as a fantastic place to visit. If you’re already a Stratford Racecourse fan or a first timer please get in touch!
