The Most Popular Wines at The BBC Good Food Show – Top Choices and The Start of a Trend?

I thought it would be good to let you know which wines are going down a storm at the Summer BBC Good Food Show at the NEC Birmingham. This is our 3rd day into the Show and we still have the busy weekend to look forward to! It has been a huge success so far and a BIG thank you to everyone who has come to say hello and try our wines!

The bubbly has been a knock out and Comte de Laube has been a firm favourite. In fact we have run out of stock at the Show this morning due to a rush! Don’t worry we have sent for more! I asked one lady how much she thought it’s retail price would be, she said £30! And was staggered to learn that we sell it at £7.49!

People love the Cremant d’Alsace as many have not come across it before. It’s proving to be a popular alternative to Champagne, offering great quality and value for money, generally being half the price!

Our new Champagne: Champagne Morel Brut Reserve is the star of the Show and people have labelled it as ‘simply gorgeous’.

The Grand Cru Classé have also proved to be a hit with Chateaux Gloria 08, Moulin Riche 06, Bellefont Belcier 06, L’Enclos 06 and Mathilde de La Fleur Morange 06 and 07 being the top choices.

Favourites from the affordable Claret range (£7.79 – £14.98) are Chateaux Roc de Lauvraut, Puyanche 05, de Hartes 09, Petit Moines 09, Les Marcheys 09, Loyasson 09, Pessan 06, Teyssier 07 and Ballan Larquette 08. We have had some wonderful compliments about the high standard of these clarets and acquired a whole host of new fans.

The Sauternes Chateau Sainte Helene has been a knock out and I was surprised to find how many people were raving about it – perhaps this is the start of a trend for Sauternes as it seems to be growing in popularity leap by bound at the moment!

Our range from Montagnac n Hérault in the Languedoc has also come in for some praise, especially the Chardonnay. People have been telling me they don’t like Chardonnay, trying the Montagnac Chardonnay 09 and then buying a case! The Montagnac Syrah Rosé has also been a hit as has the Chateau Lamothe Vincent Bordeaux Rosé.

Cheers!
